After graduating from Cornell with a B.S. in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering, I came to the Rose lab with a desire to reconcile my interest in biology with my background in computer modeling and statistics. I am particularly intrigued by the use of genetic information to model protein structures/interactions and illuminate the resulting chemical pathways of the cell.
I am presently working on an Arabidopsis Thaliana genome database that will streamline researchers' access to information, including publications. I am also researching the shortcomings of SignalP by examining the peculiarities of the false positives and negatives. Such research may lead to a better understanding of the secretory pathway.
