After completing my undergraduate degree in Plant Science at Cornell in 2002 I worked as a lab technician in the Nasrallah lab during my transition to graduate school. In the Fall of 2003 I entered the Horticulture program here at Cornell working with Dr. Bill Miller, being funded through TA-ships in Introductory Biology and Plant Tissue Culture. Enjoying my teaching experiences I intend to enter the Science Education program here at Cornell after completing my masters in Horticulture.
In the Rose lab I am overseeing the reconstruction of the lab website among other lab responsiblities. My primary research project in this lab is examining the molecualar basis for the Delayed Fruit Deterioration (DFD) tomato mutant. A mutant that retains its firm structure for an extended period of time. We intend to map the location of the gene(s) responsible for this phenotype in collaboration with the Tanksley lab.
